Green Phase Requirements

Those who are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should not come to church. Parishioners are not required to attend Mass as an obligation for the time being.

Beginning June 29 we will enter the Green Phase (Part 1) in the Diocese of Allentown. No more than 50% of total church occupancy may be present inside the church for Mass. Since there may be occasion that social distancing is not possible at 50%, masks must be worn. Therefore we are permitted 250 parishioners per Mass. Prior to the pandemic only 377 parishioners attend Mass on a weekend.

The Parish bulletin should be received when you enter the church on the fourth of July weekend since the words of the hymns will be included in the bulletin for Mass. The bulletin is then taken home.

Parishioners may light Votive candles. Hand sanitizer should be used before/after use.

Viewings are permitted in the church with proper social distancing and wearing of masks.

Eucharistic Ministers are not permitted to bring Holy Communion to the homebound.

The Deacon may prepare the Chalice and may elevate the Chalice for the Doxology. The Deacon does not handle the cup but only the base and the stem. The Deacon may receive from a secondary chalice and he purifies that vessel at the credence table or after Mass.

Long handle baskets may again be used to take up the collection at the Offertory part of the Mass in the Green Phase Part 1. (Begins July 4-5 weekend)

Holy Communion will be received on the tongue or hand but it is encouraged that parishioners receive in the hand with six feet between communicants. Parishioners then leave the church in an orderly manner not crowding the exits. One may remove the mask to receive Communion.

Following the final blessing and one verse of the recessional hymn, the priest, deacon (if available) and one Eucharistic Minister will distribute Holy Communion at the end of Mass rather than at Communion time in the sanctuary area.

At this time only one lector per Mass, one Eucharistic Minister per Mass, ushers and greeters are permitted to provide service at the weekend Mass in the Green Phase Part 1. (Begins July 4-5 weekend.)

Altar Servers, Choirs, and hymnals are still not permitted to be at weekend Mass.

Collection Counters now have permission to resume counting the collection each week in the rectory. Of course a mask and social distancing still apply
